On February 11, 2025, global power management company Eaton announced it would invest $340 million to establish a major manufacturing facility in Jonesville, SC—right in the heart of Union County. The project will convert an 861,000-square-foot building into a high-tech production facility for three-phase transformers, a critical component of the national power grid.

The project is expected to create 700 jobs and begin operations in 2027. It’s a powerful statement about the region’s infrastructure, workforce, and long-term competitiveness.

Why Union County Works for Advanced Manufacturing
